Pharmacare “we did it”

Delegates to the CUPE National Sector Conference were taken on guided tour of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike led by MFUR President Paul Moist.

On October 10, MFUR President Paul Moist, made a presentation at the Manitoba Legislature in support of Bill 7, the public sector construction projects (tendering) repeal act, which would bring back the option to require unionized workers as a condition of a tender or project labour agreement. The previous Progressive Conservative government had previously banned PLAs.

Every second Wednesday of the month, a gathering is held at Young United Church to discuss how we might strengthen our democracy.

October 1st of each year is #NationalSeniorsDay, which coincides with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons.

Labour Day is the day to look back and celebrate all the victories over the years. As union retirees we look forward to dignity in our retirement and programs to ensure affordability in our lives.

On July 29, labour and union retirees kicked off the federal by-election in Elmwood-Transcona with a canvass.

The MFL presented Sister Barb Jones with the 2024 Judy Cook Woman of Achievement Award at its Convention this past May.
